Spinal Injury Care
A spinal cord injury usually begins with a sudden, traumatic blow to the spine that fractures or dislocates vertebrae.
The damage begins at the moment of injury when displaced bone fragments, disc material, or ligaments bruise or tear into spinal cord tissue. Most injuries to the spinal cord don’t completely sever it.
Whatever the cause of your spinal cord injury, whether through trauma or illness, we are here to help you and your family to live full and independent live as possible.
Spinal cord injury is a devastating physical, emotional and socioeconomic event for an individual occurring in people of all ages and is one of the most complex and challenging areas of medical, surgical and rehabilitative management.
During our initial meeting with you or your family, we will spend time discussing your needs, background, history, culture and medical condition so that we can match the right spinal injury care and support worker to you.
We will ensure our care and support workers have the relevant spinal injury care and support experience and/or training in your condition.
