September was a busy month for Avant, with our whole team getting involved in fundraising, training sessions and attending informative workshops.
Our care workers and office staff came together for a great cause on Friday, taking part in Macmillan’s The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
Every year, offices, community groups and friends come together as part of Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer. Through the sale of tea and cakes and donations, millions of pounds are raised, last year totalling £27 million.
The Avant Healthcare team took part in a dress down day while putting out a delicious spread of cupcakes, doughnuts and Victoria sponges, and managed to raise over £70 for those affected by cancer. Thank you to everyone who took part!
Earlier this week we held a training session for ‘Absence Management’ at the Avant Head Office. The aim of this course is to help our managers and franchisees manage absence effectively and to ensure the positive outcomes that our customers receive are not adversely affected by any last-minute absence.
In an ever-evolving industry like the care industry, training is of the utmost importance to ensure our customers are receiving the best service possible. This not only applies to Care Workers who are on the frontline of our service, but also the office staff who carefully organise and co-ordinate our care services to ensure that our costumer’s needs are met in a timely, effective and safe way.
Lastly, Avant Healthcare Managing Director Sally Graham attended the Skills for Care roadshow in Newbury, which covered topics such as how to recruit safely and effectively, advice on how to support care managers and how technology is being integrated into care. It was a really successful and interesting day organised by Skills for Care, the strategic body for workforce development in adult social care in England.
